Cambridge conference highlights dangers of alcohol misuse

Published: Tue, 18 Mar 2008 12:00:00

The dangers and harms associated with alcohol misuse were highlighted at an event in Cambridge recently.

Attended by around 150 representatives from the police, healthcare sector, local authorities and other agencies from throughout the East of England, the conference featured presentations from expert speakers on how best to tackle the problems and examples of approaches that have worked in other areas of the country.

The Red Rose Chain Theatre Company from Ipswich gave a performance that demonstrated how family and peer pressure can influence the behaviour and choices made by young people, and ultimately lead to alcohol misuse.

The Alcohol Conference took place at Robinson College Cambridge.
