CLG has produced a document highlighting the progress made since the publication of the Local Government White Paper "Strong and Prosperous Communities".

CLG has produced a document highlighting the progress made since the publication of the Local Government White Paper (LGWP) Strong and Prosperous Communities.

Strong and Prosperous Communities, was published in October 2006. The White Paper signalled the Government's commitment to empowering citizens and communities - devolving more power locally and enabling more influence and choice, better redress and greater opportunities for communities to own and run local services.

An implementation plan for the LGWP was published in January 2007 setting out how the Government would play its part in achieving these aims. This new document - The Local Government White Paper Implementation Plan: One Year On - updates the original plan and describes the progress made so far, reflecting actions across Government and the importance of close working with key partners.
