Fuel Poverty

Because of its overall prosperity, the East of England has to highlight pockets of deprivation and work hard to identify dispersed deprivation not captured by standard methods. This is true of fuel poverty, which often goes unrecognised as a major cause of excess winter deaths, and a contributor to poor health and loss of wellbeing.

We work closely with the regional branch of the Home Energy Officers Network (HEON) which includes energy officers from most Local Authorities in the East of England.

The aim of the group is to share best practice and work co-operatively to help reduce the impact of fuel poverty.
