We aim to promote the Department’s strategic priorities and the cultural agenda throughout the East of England.
Our key areas of work include:
- Advocacy about the importance of cultural activities in community planning, regeneration, social inclusion, health, learning and skills
- Promoting the contribution that culture and sporting activity can make to improving the quality of children’s and young people’s lives and increasing participation
- Communicating the DCMS agenda to the regional cultural agencies, which the Department funds, and encouraging their involvement with the Government Office for the East, the East of England Development Agency and the Regional Assembly - as well as with local authorities and the wider community
- Helping to maximise the contribution of the cultural sectors to the Government’s agenda in the region
- Contributing to the assessments of cultural project bids for European funding.
